Why Mars?

The briefing is a bit of a history lesson - examining why we, as humans, are so focused on a place as alien and dangerous as Mars.  Originally, the discussion went into the major plan from the Mars Society and Space X but with the recent reorientation on the part of Mr. Musk, the conversation is modified to include the current Moon mission plans (or lack thereof as the case may be).

Biography:

Rick Peterson, Lt Col, CAP is a retired USAF officer with some time at NASA years ago, that taught physics at the high school level for 19 years and that currently serves as a "JPL Solar System Ambassador."

The live meeting will be at Mesa Room Central Library.
